This building has a mixture of modern architecture with some old-world details. The accent and Rosette stone is constructed of sandstone. For an old-world motif, the top of the building has several corbelled courses with a dentil, which was usual in masonry construction during the nineteenth century.

The new Village Bank Nonantum branch was completed in the fall of 2005 for Commodore Builders. This building also possesses the old world masonry detail that Fragale Building Corporation looks for in masonry construction where the base of the building is constructed of precast with brick coursing that come up to 3’ high water table sill constructed of a continuous brick roll–lock. At each floor the building also has a brick accent course made of an indented brick roll-lock as well. Traditional limestone/Buff precast headers and sills have been used.

This structure was completed in the summer of 2006 for DMB Construction. The most obvious attribute to this structure is that it does not have any right angles! The building has the shape of a triangle with two towers at two of its points. This building has an old world style with the use of a Watsontown brick and the accent precast bands. The headers for all the window opening also have a keystone feature that is prevalent in cast stone headers seen in masonry construction during the nineteenth century.

This project was completed in the summer of 2009 for the Carr Enterprises & Bulfinch Companies and involved masonry additions, masonry restorations, and hardscapes. This unique building involved our expertise in the restorations of a 50-year-old building that had glazed block accents above and below all windows. These glazed blocks were spalled and required a long-lasting coating system that would adequately adhere to the existing materials. Fragale Building Corporation, in conjunction with Kamco Supply and Sto Systems, provided the ultimate solution and finish to these accents.

Brookline, MA

The house at 59 Sargent Street was built circa 1930. This project involved specific matching requirements for a pool addition, as the existing masonry veneers exhibit several different kinds of brick from different manufacturers – some of which no longer fabricate brick. Specific attention to matching the existing masonry work required a special blend of 5 brick types and was successful in providing an exact match with the specific blend.

In addition, our in-house examination of the existing mortar color gave us the ability to find a color that also blends in with the existing mortar colors. Fragale Building Corporation also took part in the design and installation of a raised bluestone terrace to facilitate drainage.
